Stained glass mosaic to support Ukrainian refugees

My newest course involves an exploration of methods of directing the flow and energy of your stained glass mosaic. My approach to stained glass is a blending of ancient traditional mosaic grammar with techniques used in leaded stained glass work, all mashed up with contemporary and folk art design and even tile-setting influences. Stained glass is a versatile mosaic material because it can be cut more precisely and in larger pieces, or nipped small and placed more organically.

In my newest course, Pattern and Flow in Stained Glass Mosaic, I delve into some ways to cut and set glass pieces in order to control the feeling conveyed in the work, the fluidity, energy and movement using techniques that are unique to stained glass mosaic.

I have two in-person classes coming up in 2023 (March 31 at the Glass Craft & Bead Expo in Las Vegas and September 29 at the SAMA/SGAA Conference in Buffalo, NY) and as of March 10, an online option is available through Mosaic Arts Online! While there’s nothing quite like learning from an instructor in a live-action workshop, the online course is a great way to learn in your own home or studio where you can take your time working through it and return to review the material as many times as needed. *This might also be a nice addition to the live workshop, as a way to review what was learned in class.
