ACCESS = Artists Creating Community Engagement in the South Sound seeks support

Welcome to ACCESS: Artists Creating Community Engagement in the South Sound!

At ACCESS, we believe in the transformative power of art to unite people from all walks of life and enhance the beauty of shared spaces. Led by artist Jennifer Kuhns, our program is dedicated to fostering community connections and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of our surroundings through participatory art projects.

Participants rotated through Arbutus during Fall ArtsWalk 2018 to create the mosaic for a bench.

Our mission is to bring people together, regardless of their age, background, or abilities, and empower them to co-create vibrant and meaningful art installations. We specialize in the captivating art form of mosaic, but we hope to incorporate more artists and mediums over time.

What makes ACCESS unique?

Inclusivity: We work with diverse groups of participants to ensure that our projects are representative of the entire community, and funding will help eliminate financial barriers to participation.

Collaboration: We believe that art is a collective endeavor. Our projects are co-created, allowing everyone to contribute their unique perspectives and talents.

Community Beautification: We transform public and shared-use spaces into vibrant, inspiring, and welcoming environments through our art installations.

Engagement: Our projects go beyond the final piece; they spark conversations, strengthen community bonds, and leave a lasting impact.

Metamorphosis Mural Dedication

Join us in our mission to create art that unites, uplifts, and transforms. Together, we can make a positive difference in our communities, one mosaic at a time.

Jennifer Kuhns is a full-time artist as JK Mosaic, LLC (https://www.jkmosaic.com) who has been has been leading community art projects since 2012. ACCESS is an idea that has been developing for several years, and she would like to partner with local businesses and/or organizations to turn it into a solid program. Recognizing that she cannot do it alone, she is launching this crowdfunder in order to fund more projects, and with a long-term goal of eventually retiring from big commissions to focus on personal creative expression and community projects. She is launching this fundraiser on her birthday, and it ends on her 55th birthday, one year later.
