I have a few dates on my calendar for public events that I’d like to share with anyone interested in attending:

Monday, September 12: This isn’t really a public event persay, but the collaborative sculpture project I worked on with Carrie Ziegler and Shon Forsyth, “Growing Love” will be installed at 10 E. Main St. in downtown Auburn, WA and will be on view there until summer 2023. *Note: Voting is currently underway for the Peoples Choice Award. It’s very easy to cast your vote and anyone can weigh in: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NQVGZC3

Tuesday, October 4 at 4:30: We’ll be unveiling and celebrating the addition of my mosaic portrait of Nat and Thelma Jackson to the City of Lacey’s permanent public art collection. The portrait will be installed in the Lacey Community Center at 6729 Pacific Ave. SE in Lacey, WA. This portrait was partially funded by a grant from the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art to be included in a Black Lives Matter exhibition that took place in 2021. My goal was to commemorate a couple who have spent their lives working for racial equity in Thurston County, and to bring more attention to influential Black community members in my local area.

Meet Nat and Thelma Jackson, Olympia icons, and see their stained glass mosaic portrait.

October 7, 6-8pm: Fresh Talent artist reception at Bainbridge Arts & Crafts

October 14, 1-3pm: The Business Side – a webinar: https://jkmosaic.com/event/the-business-side-a-webinar-with-jennifer-kuhns-jk-mosaic/
