Diversity Mural dedication at Choice High School on June 14, 2018

The Diversity Mural at Choice High School in Shelton, WA was dedicated in June 2018, though it wasn’t quite completed yet. It was still ungrouted, and one of the figures hadn’t been painted yet, but many of the students who had worked on the project would be graduating that night and moving on. We wanted to make sure everyone at the school who had participated would be able to be included in the dedication.

Jeff Chew, a local reporter for Ifiber News was there to film the event, and he put together this video afterward:

After the dedication, we had a heart-making activity where we impressed messages and designs into clay, which were glazed and fired by school staff. I took them with me to Orlando for inclusion in the second version of the mural, which was dedicated in September 2018, and completed in November.

This mural is located at 807 Pine St., Shelton, WA 98584.
