Description
This is 23″ x 19″, Stained glass, beads, clear textured glass, dichroic glass on 1/4″ Hydroblok (foam core tile substrate.)
It can easily be removed from the frame and used as a backsplash or shower insert, and it’s made to withstand moisture and weather. The original design is a folk art representation of a Tree of Life, influenced by Polish papercutting (Wycinanki). An ornamental tree, flanked by two peacocks, has a feminine figure rising up from it’s core in a position understood by many to be “drawing down the moon.” Most of the glass in the birds is opalescent or iridescent, so it shimmers.
