Description
My wholesale supplier has discontinued carrying Laticrete products. I do have some of the items listed below, but I am figuring out how to source thinset and grout, so please bear with me. For now, the best way to get these supplies may be through Luna Mosaic Arts in Orlando (Cherie carries 2lb amounts) or through Amazon.com (still only available in giant portions.) Contact me if you would like a custom kit and I’ll work with you to send whatever I can.
These are the supplies I mail out as a kit to accompany the Professional Mosaic Installation course through Mosaic Arts Online (coming fall 2020). They include:
- 12″ x 36″ fiberglass mesh
- Laticrete Platinum 254 thinset (white)
- margin trowel
- notched trowel
- dry erase marker (for marking cuts)
- popsicle sticks for mixing & spreading as needed
- grout sponge
- superfine steel wool
- Nitrile gloves, M
- Permacolor Select grout, white, with a colored tint (Raven) I also have some other grout colors on hand that I can send. I have limited supply and selection available, but still lots of options, so let me know if you prefer another color.
Supply kit is $35 plus medium flat rate shipping: $15= $50
*You will also need:
-A grouting float of your choice (I use a spatula)
-Containers for mixing thinset and grout
-A bucket/water for clean-up
-Tesserae of your choice (Look at the list that comes with the course for exact supplies for the demo project)
-Cutting tools (these will depend on your material / If you need wheeled glass nippers, check my supply listings as I do have nippers for sale that I can add to your kit)
-Substrate (tile board or concrete, like a retaining wall or similar / You can purchase foam core tile boards from mosaic suppliers like WitsEnd Mosaic or Maryland Mosaic)
-Tools for staying tidy
-Dry, lint-free rags
-Clear plastic
-a stiff board at least the size of your section
