Opening Friday, Sept. 3rd, 2021:
September is an exhibition marking the seasonal shift from Summer to Autumn. The grouping includes a variety of work interpreting many interpretations of the PNW during this transformative time, ranging from the melancholy of late summer to celebrating the changing hues. The exhibition includes two new Olympia-artists to Childhood’s End: the wire sculpture work of Elizabeth Berrien and the landscape oils of Nancy Romanovsky; and an experimental body of work from Judith Smith, new glass mosaic works from Jennifer Kuhns and a bright collection of pastels by Marianne Partlow.
Childhood’s End Gallery is at 222 4th Avenue W. in Olympia, WA, USA. It’s the oldest continuously operating gallery in Washington, or at least that’s what I was told by a gallery owner in Port Townsend. Fun fact: when I visited Olympia as a kid (from Michigan) I had big dreams of one day moving to the West Coast and showing my artwork at this very gallery, which I found utterly enchanting. It may have taken me to the ripe old age of 51, but here I am!
