I installed this mosaic panel on May 31, 2017 at the South Kitsap Skatepark in Port Orchard. I love this project because it is in a public space used by people from all walks of life, yet it is deeply personal. My point person for this mosaic was the wife of the man being memorialized. I originally met with her and their two children to plan the mosaic. He was integral to the development of the skatepark plaza that is now named for him. He was a firefighter, father, and beloved member of the community.
