I’m very excited that one of my papercut designs has been fabricated as a metal banner for the South Capital Neighborhood in
Olympia, WA. The banner is now mounted right on Capital Way, very near the state buildings. I’ve been creating a body of work in papercuts using the Wycinanki technique, and I’m hoping to have more of them translated into prints and public art projects. They would make great gates, fences, screens, and guard rails (to provide a space to look through, while preventing anyone from climbing or falling.)
Four new banners have been mounted in the neighborhood, by separate artists.
