This mural was made entirely through community engagement. The first step took place during Olympia Spring Arts Walk with the making of the wings.

How to Get Involved:

  1. Visit My Patreon Page: Go to patreon.com/jkmosaic and explore the different membership tiers.
  2. Choose Your Tier: Select the level of support that suits you best. Each tier offers unique rewards and perks.
  3. Enjoy the Benefits: Start enjoying exclusive content, early access, and special rewards immediately after signing up. There are already some posts with tips, tricks and detailed progress reports available to check out.

I’ve set up my Patreon as a subscription model for mosaic instruction. For a monthly pledge starting at $4, I will share updates and insights about my process. At the $10 level I’ll post short tutorials, explain my process in more detail, and offer Q&A sessions. And at the $30 level, I’ll be creating recorded micro-workshops with occasional zoom sessions including how-tos, step-by-step projects, art business advice, and tips for creating designs. I have been adding new options to the paid levels, including a discount code for my Etsy shop and free mosaic templates. It’s a work-in-progress, so I’m adding benefits as I am able.

I have it set up so that you can sign up for free and check it out, and you can also change or cancel your subscription anytime.

This is a brand new experiment and I am very excited to see where it leads. So far, it feels like a more direct way to connect with my community, rather than posting on social media, which becomes overwhelming, and it’s like sending a message in a bottle. On Patreon, you can control your level of engagement, and you can check in on your own time to see what’s up. There’s already some content, and I even added a recorded workshop for $30 subscribers. I’ll be developing more instructional content in 2025 and beyond.

What are you supporting?
-A mentorship program that is in progress
-More community engagement with fewer financial barriers
-More teamwork: I want to share my skills with younger artists and collaborate with people who work in other mediums
-A slower pace for me, allowing me to make a plan for aging into a different approach to my work that includes experimenting, play, writing, researching and possible art retreats.

Thank you for your support!
