Booster Class for Precision Cutting Stained Glass for Mosaic

This is a zoom class for students who have already taken the Precision Cutting Stained Glass for Mosaic workshop, either in person or from Mosaic Arts Online, but are looking for extra instruction to address continuing challenges. Please note that this is not for students new to glass cutting. I’ll take students who didn’t take the workshop from me, but have their own tools and basic cutting skills. But I’ll be jumping straight into more advanced technique, so a beginner would likely be lost.

We’ll review skinny strips, undulating curves, concave scores, circles, teardrops and crescents. I’ll demonstrate when and how I cut more difficult glass, and when I just use it for other types of andamento.

You will need a selection of glass in 6″ sections or larger, and I’ll post some glass packs for sale in case you need practice glass. You will also need a scoring tool (I like Toyo cutters, the model is up to you), running pliers (I prefer metal ones) and breaker-groziers (I recommend the ones with flat ends; not tapered.) Ideally, you will have two sets of running pliers.

This is a technique class and there won’t be a project, though you’re welcome to work on a personal project during class.
